Abstract

This thesis evaluates the possibilities of production of reducing rollers by centrifugal casting technology. In theoretical part, methods of production of reducing rollers mainly are discussed, especially the method of centrifugal casting. In theoretical basis of this technology, types of centrifugal casting, defects and application castings in practical terms are described. Within the analysis of the current global knowledge in the area of verification and optimization of production of reducing rollers, the attention was mainly focused on utilization of numerical modelling. In the experimental part, the manufacturing process of reducing rollers in terms of foundry VÚHŽ a.s. is analyzed, a metallographic analysis of steel reducing rollers is performed and statistical evaluation of the data of cast iron rollers using multiple regression analysis was done. Due to the statistical evaluation, the equation of determination of expected hardness of cast iron rollers depending on the chemical composition was established.
