Abstract
This Bachelor paper is intent on the waste management of the Czech Republic and the European Union. It is dividend into several parts. The first part and the second part describe knowledge about the waste management, the environment and the legislation in the Czech Republic as well as in the European Union. The third part characterizes activities of non-profit-making organizations in the area of the waste management in the Czech Republic. The fourth part is dedicated to the description of the current state of the waste management and to the targets which should be achieved. The last part characterizes problem areas of the waste management. It is intent on the backward taking of selected products and on the treatment with the biodegradable waste.
