Abstract
Work deal with image analysis of Ostrava city from university students‘ perspective. Main aim was find out, how university students perceive city of Ostrava and then recommend the proposals to increase the city's image. The research included information about what’s the students‘ association with the city of Ostrava. Furthermore, how students assess Ostrava‘s safety, environment, leisure activities, culture, labor market and general suitability to live or start a family. It was also examined whether students know the logo of the city, the official website of Ostrava, where are searched the most common sources of information about the city, what is the biggest problem of Ostrava, in what areas they would like to invest and whether they intend to stay in the city after a graduation. From groundwork gained on the basis research, was city of Ostrava recommended to improve safety, the environment, attracting new investors, avoiding fluctuations of graduates, improving media coverage of the city and focus on the seamless use of subsidies from European funds.
