Abstract
The aim of this disertation´s thesis was to inquire the landscape changes at the territory of former Bohumín dominion since 17th century and show its landscape phenomenon.
A part of this territory is an important European natural monument „Border Meanders of the River Odra“. This Czech-Polish part of river Odra is a rarely seeen phenomenon in central Europe as it is the last segment of the river with well-preserved river bed making processes except the CHKO Poodří.
The Bohumín dominion started to expand in the period of the feudal Middle Ages at the influence of two rivers – Odra and Olza. The town of Bohumín became the dominant. Other villages joined it during the time. The clans of the dominion owners were changing during the ages as well as the area of the dominion. Recently the former dominion consists of the town of Bohumín and its seven parts: Starý Bohumín, Nový Bohumín, Vrbice, Pudlov, Šunychl, Záblatí a Skřečoň.
Over the centurie salso the landscape at the territory of former Bohumín dominion with its two important rivers – Odra and Olza changed. The landscape developmnet was wedded to the society development as we can notice in old cartographic records.
For the study of landscape changes of the chosen territory were used historical maps which show the changes of the landscape surrounding both rivers since 17th century.
