Abstract

This thesis aims to describe the use of selected non-ferrous metals for refinement of the microstructure of steel. The paper describes how the beneficial properties of non-ferrous elements, as well as harmful elements in steel. Formation of intermetallic phases is documented in the appended equilibrium diagrams Fe-NŽK. They show us the qualitative and quantitative description of the different stages at different temperatures. Recently beneficial effect was observed nonmetallic inclusions during solidification of the steel and its transformation during the solid state. Using appropriate content of specific elements can achieve fine structure. Default used for grain refining aluminum, vanadium, as well as titanium. For the refinement of the microstructure can also use cerium.
