Abstract

The thesis deals with the problems of small and medium sized entrepreneurship and its support in Romania after accession to the European Union. The objektive of the thesis is to evaluace the development and current condition of small and medium enterprises, selected business supports in Romania, as well as provide recommendations for Czech entrepreneurs planning to enter the Romanian market. The theoretical part is focused on small and medium-sized enterprises in Romania, selected factors of the business environment, business support through structural funds and SWOT analysis of the sector of small and medium-sized enterprises. The practical part analyzes the development of SMEs, in this part is also a comparison of time and cost, entrepreneurs need, to start a business in Czech Republic and in Romania, comparison of the competitiveness of both economies and a comparison of government support for small and medium sized enterprises in Czech Republic and in Romania.
