Zadržení vody v krajině

Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with possibilities of water retention in the landscape and complex land modifications as a tool to prevent accelerated surface runoff from agricultural areas. As a model example, it takes a comprehensive area of interest Staré Hvězdlice, the Southmoravion Region, Vyškov district and describes in the first place the consequences of poor farming method, resulting in high erodibility of soil and reduced capacity of water retention in the landscape. The aim of the thesis is to propose water management and anti-erosion measures that would restore the ability to retain water in its territory and prevent an accelerated surface runoff from the area in the village of Staré Hvězdlice. As an ideal means to achieve these objectives, it refers to complex land-based adaptations and specifically focuses on one of their parts - a common facility plan. Using the ArcGIS computer model, it determines the areas with the highest erosion, which are then protected with appropriate anti-erosion and water management measures designed to prevent an accelerated surface runoff. The effectiveness of these measures is subsequently verified by compiling a new model to compare water erosion in the area of interest before and after the proposed measures.
