Abstract

This diploma thesis desribes a system designed and used to identify competitors and evaluate the results of the orienteering race. The system consists of control devices and an application for data management and its visualization. The task of the control devices is to create a record of the competitor's passage through the site. The devices include a module for communication via LoRaWan which enables to see data in real time. These devices are powered by batteries therefore an analysis of energy consumption is performed. An web application for data administration and visualization has been created as well. The visualization is user-friendly and can be used dynamically for multiple orienteering races. The visualization has been created using the R language.
