Aktuální výzvy pro migrační politiku Evropské unie

Abstract

Migration is natural phenomenon in the world, which has been here always, but recently we have been witnessed enormous number of people heading to Europe. This flow of people coming to member states of European Union showed the weak spots in context of migration policy and exposed the European Union to new challenges. These challenges are common for others entities in the world as well, but the way how the European Union is unique, Union is forced to react differently than national states. That’s why it is interesting to watch, how representatives of the European Union react in case of sudden challenge. The aim of the thesis is to chart and evaluate migratory trends, compare migration policy of the European Union with the policies of selected countries and identify the main challenges for this migration policy. The thesis is divided into three main content chapters, in the first chapter migration is theoretically defined, there is also defined how migration manifests itself and European Union’s approach to migration. In the second chapter migration policy of European Union is compared to migration policies of the United States of America, Australia, Norway, South Africa and Switzerland. The third chapter focuses on the European Union’s migration policy response to current migration trends and migration trends in the European Union as such.
