Abstract

Aim of the Thesis is to evaluate the impact of the crisis on the performance of a hypothetical exchange rate criterium. Thesis consists of three parts. The first part deals with the development of monetary cooperation in Europe. It described the beginning of cooperation between countries of the EEC and the beginnings of an integration grouping. The second part describes the ERM and ERM II. Also focuses on meeting the conditions and method of evaluation of the exchange rate convergence criterion. The third part puts the main emphasis on the crisis and its impact on the performance criteria of foreign exchange and other Maastricht criteria.
