Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the use of microorganisms for degradation of contaminated water or soil with oil. It describes petroleum hydrocarbons in terms of their chemical structure and capabilities of bacteria and other micro-organisms degrade the pollutants. It describes the conditions under which it is possible to achieve a successful and degradation of individual technologies, which use bacteria in their processes. The method of biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons is economically advantageous and environmentally-friendly.
