Abstract

Bretton Woods Monetary System is one of the key affairs in monetary history. It was established in July 1944 in Bretton Woods (US) and his task was to stabilize the international monetary relations and boost the development of international trade. International Monetary Fund (IMF) and International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) was also founded with the system. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to outline the historical development of the Bretton Woods Monetary System and to describe and evaluate the media approaches of France, Great Britain, US and Czechoslovakia to the collapse of the system. The issue is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter we used chronological description of the history and in the second chapter we composed analysis of the media. The third chapter contains practical work which reflects the issues in journalism and consists of four genres – introductory article, interview, survey and review.
