Abstract

The subject of the thesis, called “Wooden walkways in the trees”, is a static proposal and opinion of the wood footbridge structure, according to the assignment of the thesis. Firstly, the work deals with a structure and features of wood, historical evolution and construction systems of timber footbridges, and review of already designed trails in the trees. The next level in the processing was to find the best variant of the construction system for 28m span of the footbridge. Variants have been assessed by estimate calculation. The modal analyses were performed, then the fittest variant of the structure was chosen. The final variant was assessed by for the ultimate limit states and serviceability limit states. Finally, the natural frequencies of the construction were verified. The verification of this was implemented in vertical, horizontal and torsion direction. The assessment was realized according to the actual European standards.
