Abstract

The main goal of this bachelor thesis is financial comparison of three variants of the staircase construction of a new nursing home building. For their simpler comparison, the same loads on the ceiling are considered in all calculations. The first variant of the staircase construction is a monolithic reinforced concrete slab staircase embedded in the landing. The second variant of the construction is a prefabricated wooden staircase arm simply placed between two landings. The third variant of the construction is a prefabricated steel staircase simply stuck between two landings. The result of the bachelor thesis is to find out which variant of the stair arm construction is the most suitable for the nursing home. For financial comparison of individual design variants, I created an itemized budget in the KROS program, which is part of the appendices to this bachelor thesis. The most cost-effective option is a prefabricated steel staircase. For the project documentation I chose a variant of a monolithic reinforced concrete staircase because of lower maintenance costs. The prefabricated wooden staircase is not suitable for a nursing home because of the highest purchase price and poor fire resistance. It is not possible to decide unequivocally which variant of the staircase construction is the best and therefore it is up to the investors in cooperation with the author of the project to choose a variant of the staircase construction.
