Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with a study of a new tram loop in the vicinity of the University Hospital Ostrava and the adjacent VŠB-TUO campus. The main objective of the work is to assess three possible designs of the loop and its connection to the existing tram infrastructure on 17. listopadu Street. The thesis analyzes in detail the advantages and disadvantages of individual solutions with regard to transport accessibility, technical complexity, and property relations. The individual designs are evaluated based on a multi-criteria analysis (MCA) and a simplified cost-benefit analysis (CBA). The thesis also addresses the issue of walking distances to key institutions and the compliance of the structures with the current land-use plan. The results point out the strengths and weaknesses of the variants, primarily in the areas of construction costs, operational parameters, and land availability. Based on these findings, an optimal solution is determined that best meets these requirements.
