Abstract

The thesis deals with questions of comparing the protection of consumers before and after EU accession. The basic concepts are defined in the introduction. The thesis goes on to description of the sources of law of the European Union together with the description of the system of customer protection. The European regulation follows the definition of existing regulation in the Czech Republic, which is compared with the arrangements before entry into the European Union. Comparative text of the laws was chosen depending on time of the first implementing of European standards of law. Under these standards are regarded as obligations arising from the European Agreement concerning the association of the Czech Republic to the European Communities, 1993. The practical part is consisted of case studies on which they are clearly demonstrated changes in the field of consumer protection, which brought the Czech Republic joining the European Union.
