Abstract
The bachelor thesis deals with the monetary policy in an interest-free banking system. Its objective is to familiarize the reader with the specifics of monetary policy in an Islamic economy and in the chosen Muslim country – in this case Iran – to evaluate this policy and to highlight the effectiveness and efficiency of its implementation, in case of need, give some recommendations. In order to be better able to detect differences between these individual policies, also the second economy is selected – Venezuela – operating under classical, meaning interest based banking system which has with the Muslim one a certain connection – a similarly economically advanced oil country struggling with the problem of high inflation rate. This helps to more accurately determine the characteristics subtleties between these individual approaches. To solve the problem two methods are used. First and foremost there is deductive-theoretical method, meaning laying the theoretical foundations and then their practical application, and comparison. Thesis is divided into five parts including introduction and conclusion. In the first one the monetary policy in an interest based banking system is theoretically characterized, the second one specifies functioning of the Islamic banking – both commercial and central banks – and in the third part the practical application of these findings is taking place on the two above mentioned economies. At the end the appropriate economic-politically implications are determined.
