Abstract

This Bachelor´s thesis deals with the principle of the longwall bottom dead centre provision. The thesis focuses on a traditional method using individual hydraulic chocks and the high anchoring. The thesis compares the difference between these two methods in connection with safety and efficiency. As the results of the thesis show physically hard work done by mining workers is considerably faster and easier when using the technology called bolting. Using this effective technology leads to increasing coalface process as well as enlarging handling space, thereby increasing safety and shortening the time necessary to make ready a longwall bottom dead centre for reloading.
