Abstract

During my individual professional internship at ABB s.r.o., I was part of a team focused on conversions, which involve migrating from older control systems to more modern platforms. During the internship, I gained an overview of ABB’s standards for the design and implementation of real world projects, learned to work with programming tools used for control unit programming, and mastered procedures for converting real-world industrial applications. During my internship, I had the opportunity to participate in updating and testing programs as part of ongoing and completed conversion projects. I gained practical experience interpreting existing project documentation, creating new functional blocks, and integrating them into existing solutions. I also learned to analyze legacy solutions, identify potential issues during the transition to new platforms, and propose effective ways to resolve them. My work also involved collaborating with a team of experts, where I was able to observe the entire process from project assignment through development to testing. Thanks to this, I gained valuable experience in both the technical and organizational aspects of project work. This individual professional internship provided me with a comprehensive view of the operations of ABB s.r.o. and helped me expand my professional knowledge in the field of industrial automation, particularly in the areas of programming and control system conversion. I consider the experience gained to be highly beneficial for my further professional development in the field of automation technology.
