Abstract

This thesis is a continuation of the bachelor thesis. Additional characterizations of kaolinite/ZnO composites were completed. The photoactive nanoparticles and kaolinite/ZnO nanocomposites were prepared by the hydrothermal synthesis. Composites were synthetized by reaction between the aqueous solutions of the reactants of zinc oxide (zinc chloride and sodium hydroxide solutions) and stevensite. Composites containing 50 wt. % of ZnO were prepared by using a simple hydrothermal procedure. Precursors were synthetized in defined proportion in order to reach required zinc dioxide content within prepared composites. Subsequently, prepared samples were explored using X-ray powder diffraction, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Resulting photodegradation activities concerning Orange II aqueous solution was observed in the case of synthetized composites. Last but not least, the Czech manual DIFFRAC.SUITE EVA for evaluation of x- ray powder diffraction records was made.
