Abstract
This diploma thesis is focused on the creation of computational tool. The purpose of this tool is effective design and assessment of steel-concrete columns in accordance with the standard ČSN EN 1994 1-1, which covers the design of reinforced concrete structures. The tool was constructed with the use of programming language Python, specifically development environment Spyder. The outcome of this thesis is programme, which enables general specification of cross-section of a steel-concrete column, calculation and assessment according to ČSN EN 1994 1-1. The main output of the programme is compilation of interaction diagrams, which are used for assessment. The computing core is embedded in a graphic interface that increases user friendliness. The results are verified by an available program based on finite element method and manual calculation. Text section of the thesis contains the principles of approaches, that were used for calculation, the principle of the computational tool and instructions for the correct use of the programme. Quality assurance of the results is also included in the text section.
