Antimicrobial properties of engineered nanomaterials.

Abstract

Dissertation thesis deals with antimicrobial properties of engineered nanomaterials. The aim of the work is to develop a method for evaluation of the antibacterial activity of nanomaterials. Then apply the developed method on antibacterial assassment of nanocomposites designed and prepared at Nanotechnology Centre (VSB-Technical University of Ostrava). From obtained results discuss the influence of selected matrices and chemical origin of active compound on the resulting biological properties in the frame of biomedical applications.
