Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with effect of heat treatment parameters of isothermal
annealing influence on the microstructure and properties of steels. The theoretical part contains
introduction to the heat treatment of steels, above all isothermal annealing. Furthermore, the
thesis includes basic attributes of diffusion, taking place in steels during increased temperatures.
In this thesis are involved perlitic transformation attributes, related to processes during the heat
treatment, especially impact of temperature on interlamellar spacing of pearlite and
determination of interlamellar spacing. The experimental part is devoted to the characterization
of structures of steels, including their decarburization and determination of the interlamellar
spacing of pearlite, created during the isothermal annealing of selected structural steels. Outside
the above, the experimental part includes mechanical test results of chosen isothermal annealed
steels, too.
