Abstract

A human activity is followed by generation of waste. With growing amount of waste there is also a growing effort for recycling, reutilization or ecological disposal of the waste. For reutilization of the waste, we need to assess potential risks which it can represent for the ecosystem. For evaluation of the impact on the ecosystem ecotoxicological tests are used as chemical analyzes are not suffecient measure. This thesis is focused on determining the toxicity of construction waste and slag. The waste was characterized chemically by XRFS and it not textural parameters were identified. Prepared extracts were analyzed by AAS method. However, the biggest attention was paid to ecotoxicological tests. Contact tests on white mustard (Sinapis alba L.) were used for determination of semichronic toxicity. Acute toxicity was determined on aquatic organisms brine shrimp (Artemia salina) and tubifex worms (Tubifex tubifex). Bioluminescence inhibition test was used on marine bacteria Vibrio fischeri. The main observed indicator in these tests was effective concentration EC50, which makes it possible to assess the waste toxicity.
