Abstract

The energy industry in Europe is facing reconstructions and modernizations of its production facilities which will be made of creep steels of higher utility properties than those supplied on the market by the company at the moment. For the producers of seamless tubes this implies high quality needs for internal and external surfaces of all tubes producing for energy industries and heating industry. Existing customers, especially in the area of pressure tanks and energy industries, are constantly demanding more accurate tubes. The tube production for the energy sector is highly profіtable, it is a market with high added value. This relates to ensuring long-term stable assertion in the market. The development of materials for high pressures and temperatures is currently affected by two opposing tendencies. The creep-resisting steels development is focused primarily on modified 9-12Cr steels with the perspective of using to 625°C up to 650°C at the expected exploitation of 250 000 h and a maximum load of 100MPa.
