Abstract
This masters thesis deals with the analysis of data generated during optical mapping using the Saphyr system from Bionano Genomics. Based on the analyses performed, it further defines a process for converting available image data into a BNX file format created by Bionano Genomics. The proposed methods address the detection of molecules and structural variants in image data and are evaluated against the results of the proprietary algorithm of Bionano Genomics. The result is a program that is able to provide the conversion of image data into a BNX file according to the best procedures evaluated on the experiments performed and to compare the proposed procedures with the results of the BNX reference file.
