Abstract
The thesis is interested in the importance of water glasses used in chemical and physical conversion of sol-gel. The work was mainly focused on a comparison of the influence of the structure of the water glasses on the kinetics of the process of hardening by using esters of acetic acid and CO2 in the process. On the influence of the silicate was examined, the content of SiO2, clotting threshold and the comparison in terms of the particle size on the strength properties of moulding mixtures with water glass.
The work is divided into two parts, the first dedicated to the said characteristics from the chemical point of view on the structure of these solutions and the second part deals with the strength characteristics, i.e., from a physical point of view. Environmental impact assessment of the structure and strength properties is important in Foundry practice, we can define the properties of sand mixtures with water glass before preparing the mixture, during the casting of these mixtures and subsequent regeneration.
