Abstract

In this study a laboratory fixed bed adsorption column was designed. Adsorption experiments of carbon dioxide in air as carrier gas were held on activated carbon. The dynamic method was used for measurement. Here are presented results for flowrates 2,2 m3/h, 3,2 m3/h, 3,3 m3/h, 4,2 m3/h, 4,3 m3/h, 4,4 m3/h, 5,2 m3/h, 5,3 m3/h and 5,4 m3/h. Breakthrough curves describing the dependance of exit concentration of carbon dioxide on time. The data were used for calculation of adsorption capacities and kinetics. The Freundlich isotherm was used for the description of adsorption equilibrium. It was proved that the column is functional. Results were compared with published studies and the same trends were shown. The results will be used in the Laboratory of process engineering.
