Reálná konvergence Bulharska a Rumunska k zemím Evropské unie

Abstract

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to determine whether the process of real convergence occurred in Bulgaria and Romania at the period of 2004 to 2010. The real convergence means approaching the economic level of the average of European Union. For orientation in the whole work is important to understand the theoretical bases associated with this issue, therefore we define real convergence with its indicators in the first chapter. In fundamental part we carry out a comparative analysis of the process of real convergence of Bulgaria and Romania to the EU countries. It was done by GDP per capita in purchasing power standards and exchange rate conversion, and also by other indicators such as comparative pricel level and exchange rate deviation index. Finally, we evaluate the process of real convergence by comparing the mentioned indicators and we suggest the possibilities of future development of Bulgaria and Romania in the process of convergence.
