Abstract
This bachelor's thesis focuses on decontamination procedures and the management of infectious waste during the avian influenza eradication efforts carried out by the Fire Rescue Service. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of the avian influenza virus, its modes of transmission, impacts on animal and human health, and the legislative framework governing interventions in the event of an outbreak. The practical part is devoted to the analysis of current decontamination methods, identification of risks to responding personnel, and proposals for improving the effectiveness and environmental sustainability of decontamination practices. The aim of the thesis is to propose innovations that enhance the efficiency of interventions, improve the protection of responding personnel, and minimize the environmental impact when dealing with an avian influenza outbreak.
