Využití geografického informačního systému při prevenci kriminality vybrané lokality

Abstract

This thesis examines the prevention of criminal behavior and social pathologies in the city of Ostrava through the use of geographic information system. The theoretical section includes a review of legal regulations, standards, and the relevant literature. The review chapter is followed by a chapter on legal regulations, crime, and its prevention, and a chapter on the statutory city of Ostrava. The practical section analyzes crime trends in the city of Ostrava between 2021 and 2025 using a crime map, and the results are interpreted through spatial data visualization, supplemented by notes from field observations. Subsequently, a sociological survey is conducted using a quantitative exploratory method, and the results are compared with crime statistics. In the following section of the thesis, a risk assessment is performed, including a proposal for preventive security measures and an economic evaluation.
