Abstract
Bachelor work called Implementation and Utilization of eLearning at the Grammar School was elaborated at the Department of System Engineering at the Faculty of Economics, Technical University of Ostrava.
Core topic of this work is process of implementation and possibilities of utilization
of eLearning at the Gymnázium Josefa Kainara in Hlučín. The aim is to analyze the present state at the grammar school and consequently evaluate whether it is convenient to apply to this environment another form of education than current classical. Further, outline possible alternative of utilization of eLearning with regard to present conditions and school concrete needs. Choose suitable software (LMS) and suggest a solution, it means design initiatory eLearning course via chosen eLearning system. Course intention is to develop standard education and enrich it of all available ICT component.
Preamble is dedicated to theoretical knowledge of education and the process of education. Next part deals with history of eLearning, describes forms and possibilities of its use, its advantages and disadvantages with intention of grammar school including technology of LMS. Another chapter is dedicated to selection and description of appropriate eLearning system. However, main point of the work is suggestion and solution, which means designing initiatory course for Computer Science class. Structure of the course, its functionality and other characteristics are described in detail. Last part is focused on evaluation of created course with regard on its future usage at grammar school. In this part were shortly mentioned suggestions on eventual improvements as well as problems coupled with using LMS.
Course was prepared in the LMS Moodle which licence is free. Costs on its purchase are paired with operating costs – human resources, which will take care of system as well as authors and tutors (teachers), which will operate the courses. Course was created with emphasis on lucidity, interesting design and user affability for students and also teachers.
Content of the course is based on study materials, tests and assignments, which were given to me by actual computer science teachers before execution of a work. There are still some details (completion of study materials, placing on the web etc.) which have to be done, even though the course is fully functional at the moment.
