Abstract
Bachelor work „Description of supply chain in automotive company under JIT rules and principles.” has been created in order to apply knowledge and skills gained by studying subject Management on the Faculty of Economics on a specific aspect of business operation. This work describes the supply chain in automotive company, that is using „Just In Time“ method to manage their logistic processes. All communication, administration and realization of transport of supplies between suppliers and automotive company s in this case realized by a forwarding company, in which the author of this work has been working for three months as a Junior Forwarding Assistant.
Goal of this work is to describe the whole supply chain from pickup of cargo to its delivery to the automotive company and to show the main benefits and risks associated with method „Just In Time“ for the automotive company.
In theoretical part supply chain and its managements are described using recommended literature. Then follows the description of method „Just In Time“, its application in automotive industry and what this method requires from the supply chain itself. For coherence a short theoretical summary of international transport of goods, its perils, specific requirements and its influence on the price, availability, quality and reliability of delivery of goods to the automotive company is also included.
The automotive and forwarding companies are presented at the beginning of the practical part of this work. Then follows the description of the actual supply chain under JIT rules and principles from the perspective of the Junior Forwarding Assistant of the forwarding company, including administrative, custom prerequisites and communication with external shippers.
In the end the observations that transpired in the practical part, most of all pros and cons of using JIT, are summarized.
