Abstract
The dissertation thesis is focused on the issue of explosion of hybrid mixtures. In the introductory part of the thesis, an introduction to the current state of knowledge in the field of explosions of dusts, gases, vapors of flammable liquids, and hybrid mixtures was made. In the following part of the thesis, the basic terminology of explosion and approximation of explosion parameters is discussed. Part of the work is also the definition of legislative regulations concerning the prevention of serious accidents and explosion prevention. A description of hybrid mixtures and pure substances is also carried out from the physic-chemical point of view and from the point of view of modeling or predicting the behavior of this specific explosive set. Subsequently, the selected technology (specifically biomass gasification) is described, where a hybrid mixture can occur, while this hybrid mixture is the main interest of the research of the given issue of the dissertation. To be able to investigate the explosions of hybrid mixtures, the next part of the work describes the instrumentation on which the experiments were carried out, including standardized test procedures and regulations. A comparison of the regulations used in the USA and in Europe is also presented here. The main part of the work is the presentation of the results of the explosion tests of hybrid mixtures and pure substances, when the results are then compared with each other or compared with the results published in other works. In conclusion, an overall evaluation of the experiments is carried out, including an indication of the possibilities of practical use or an outline of further possible future research into the issue of explosion of hybrid mixtures. A separate appendix to the thesis is a proposal for a methodology for determining some explosion parameters of hybrid mixtures in explosion chambers with a volume of 1 m3.
