Abstract

This diploma thesis is focused on the study of impact hydrogen on sinter reducibility and disintegration. The first part of this work is focused on the literature analysis of theoretical knowledge in the field of metallurgical and reduction processes, acquaintance with the production of blast furnaces and its complexity, as well as the possibilities of alternative sources of production and reduction of pig iron and testing of sinter properties according to ISO 4695, ISO 4696-1, 2. Tests in a hydrogen atmosphere were described in details in practice part of thesis. The effect of hydrogen on the reducibility of sinter was studied at 950 °C in an atmosphere consisted of 20% CO, 20% CO2, 2% H2 and 58% N2. After reduction the sinter disintegration was tested. The beneficial effect of hydrogen on the reducibility and disintegration of the test sample was evaluated.
