Abstract

The bachelor's thesis deals with cybercrime, which is becoming a growing problem in today's digital world. The aim of the thesis is to analyse cybercrime with a focus on denial of service (DoS) and distributed denial of service (DDoS). In the theoretical part, I will explain the definition of cybercrime and its basic concepts, including the legal regulation of cybercrime and the criminal punishment of denial of service attacks. The main part of the thesis is focused on the analysis of distributed denial of service attacks, including the mechanisms of attacks, the motivations of attackers and the impact on different sectors. Methods for detecting and preventing cyber threats are also examined in detail. These objectives are aimed at better understanding cybercrime, in particular denial of service attacks, and designing measures to protect against cyber attacks. The thesis concludes with a summary of observations that demonstrate the increasing risk of cybercrime and the need for continuous innovation in cybersecurity.
