Potenciál virtuálnej meny Bitcoin stať sa svetovou rezervnou menou

Abstract

Táto bakalárska práca sa zaoberá kryptomenou bitcoin. Cieľom práce je vyhodnotiť potenciál bitcoinu stať sa svetovou rezervnou menou. Vyhodnotenie potenciálu bitcoinu pozostáva z troch predpokladov, ktoré sú zároveň hlavnými funkciami peňazí. Jedná sa o predpoklady: bitcoin ako prostriedok výmeny, bitcoin v roli uchovávateľa hodnoty a posledným predpokladom je bitcoin ako zúčtovacia jednotka. Jednotlivé predpoklady zahrňujú posúdenie vlastností bitcoinu, ktorými sa odlišuje od tradičných mien a následne vyhodnotenie, či ide o vlastnosti zvyšujúce potenciál bitcoinu stať sa svetovou rezervnou menou alebo naopak. V súčasnosti má bitcoin nízky potenciál stať sa svetovou rezervnou menou. Dôležitý aspekt bitcoinu ako meny je v rozpore s hlavnou funkciou peňazí. Za tento dôležitý negatívny aspekt považujeme vysokú volatilitu meny.

This bachelor thesis deals with cryptocurrency bitcoin. The aim of this work is to evaluate the potential of bitcoin to become a world reserve currency. The evaluation of bitcoin potential consists of three preconditions, which are also the main functions of money. These are: bitcoin as a medium of exchange, bitcoin as a store of value, and the last precondition is bitcoin as a unit of account. Individual preconditions include the assessment of bitcoin features, which distinguishes them from traditional currencies, and then evaluates whether they are bitcoin potential enhancing features to become the world's reserve currency or vice versa. Currently, bitcoin has a low potential to become a world reserve currency. An important aspect of bitcoin as a currency is contrary to the main function of money. We consider this important negative aspect to be high currency volatility.
