Abstract

This work aims for the possibilities of using gas chromatography in connection with mass spectrometry for the determination of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and furans (PCDD/F). There are described dioxins and furans, their origination, properties, toxicity, etc. Next this work compares the options of determining PCDD/F at two different apparatures GC-MS and GC × GC TOFMS. It describes finding the optimal settings for analysis. It detects the possibilities of using Solid Phase Microextraction for the determination of PCDD/F and the options of procedure and using the extraction by solvents. In conclusion is the overall evaluation, which includes an evaluation of different methods and comparison of apparatures.
