Abstract

The presented bachelor's thesis is focused on the problems of non-conforming production of castings in the foundry operation of Vítkovické slévárny, spol s.r.o. Defects in castings negatively affect the final quality of manufactured products, and appropriate management of non-conforming production is, among other things, a way to correct defects or eliminate their occurrence. The goal of this thesis is to find possible approaches (especially in the field of production technology) that would allow to reduce the occurrence of selected types of defects that commonly occur during production. Therefore, the bachelor's thesis gradually deals with the characteristics and distribution of individual types of defects, the search for specific recommendations on how to eliminate these defects. The essential point of the work is the implemented operational experiments, which reflect the measures proposed in the literature aimed at reducing the formation of pinholes in castings.
