Cykloobchod Velodromu Ostrava

Abstract

Subject of this thesis is creating designs for cycleshop, which will be part of a newly built velodrome. Work is based upon previous studies and researches of the area. There was a velodrome proposed on open, nearly unused field to enhance cultural and educational aspects of the area. By careful shaping of building volumes was the interupted rectangular grid of streets restored to a more regular order. The velodrome became dominant element with its large scale of 10 000m2. Essence of the proposed concept is expressed through its typology - by placing cycling track within rectangular shape of the building. Whole structure is a simple and uncomplicated, yet very distictive and pronounced when viewed in the context of local area.
