Abstract

The submitted study is focused on research of mine waters in context of clay and claystone exploitation at the locality of Hřebeč. Within the scope of the study chemical analyses of surface, underground and mine waters are compared. Very low pH and relatively high content of Fe, Ca2+ and SO42- ions are the typical characteristics of waters effluent from Hřebeč mine. The contents of particular ions are influenced by geological and mineralogical-petrographical composition of the subsurface that is in contact with mine waters. The study is focused on evaluation of chemical composition of mine waters effluent from Václav-Theodor mine and from drainage gallery and analyses their influence on water quality in surface stream (Údanský potok), which drains the studied locality.
