Abstract

This dissertation deals with the problems of drought, drought predictions in the future, and measures leading to mitigate the effects of drought. The theoretical part deals with the basic knowledges related to drought, dry periods in the history of the Czech Republic and in abroad. Following the prediction of climate change. The practical part is focused on the drinking water supply in Žatec and Louny. Is evaluated the state of water resources and water demand is calculated addressed in the area. The aim was to take into account predictions of drought and propose appropriate measures the drinking water supply for the population.
