Abstract

This work deals with RFID technology problems, database theories and the technology of TIRIS systems. The aim of this work is to implement a part of the system for monitoring and localization of crystallizer's panels in steelworks. In particular, I wanted to make an application which, on a basis of RFID technology, could record data transfer between the reader of so-called transporters and a serial port on a computer. The application is executed in the development environment of MS Visual Basic .NET and to record the data it makes use of database platform MS SQL Server. Focus of this thesis is on description of making of this application, its funcionality and GUI. The sections dealing with characteristics of a SW application are, for better understanding, provided with fragments of the source code which corresponds with the text.
