Abstract

The object of this thesis is to compare the position of manufacturing industry in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany. In the first part I define the manufacturing industry, what is manufacturing industry and what belongs to that class in the classification of economic activities. I present the classification of economic activities (NACE) classification of economic activities and CZ-NACE. I also deal with basic methods of assessing the industry. In the next section I evaluate the processing industry in the Czech Republic in the period 2006-2008. I focus on the revenue from sale of goods and services, development of the number of persons employed in manufacturing and productivity. I characterize foreign trade in the manufacturing industry Czech republic. In the final part I evaluate the processing industry in the Slovak Republic and Germany, of the same economic indicators such as the Czech republic. In this chapter I compare the CR, Slovakia and Germany in the manufacturing industry with the countries of the European Union, the share of manufacturing in gross value added, the share of manufacturing in total employment and industrial production index.
