Abstract

Abstract This bachelor’s thesis is focuses on the verification Hall - Petch relation to ER7T material, which is used for the production of railway wheels. The theoretical part deals with ways of strengthening metals. Several mechanisms which lead to strengthening of the material are described in detail such as dislocation strengthening, grain boundary strengthening or precipitation strengthening. The research material is characterized in terms of its chemical composition and mechanical properties at the beginning of the experimental part. Stress characteristics of the test material are represented by the tensile diagrams and tables. To evaluate the microstructure in the form of grain size was used an optical microscope. The last part is devoted relationship between stress and structural characteristics.
