Těžba kameniva v Českém středohoří a její dopad na krajinný ráz

Abstract

This thesis presents basic data on mining and stone processing in the České středohoří Mts. The text also points out issues connected with this kind of human activities. In the prologue, the production process (from mining itself to the final product) is described. Products usually fall into categories of rough or fine stone production but in the České středohoří Mts., the main production is mostly represented by crushed stone. The thesis then presents opencut mines being in current operation, as well as abandoned stone pits. The text also deals with effects of mining on environment in the Protected land area of České středohoří Mts., either negative or positive (which are unfortunately minimal). In its latest part, the thesis describes perspectives of further mining.
