Abstract
The Sevetin quarry currently mines about 500 thousand tuns of grandirite per year. The difficult economic situation of the last few years forced many companies to take economy measures to ensure keeping the same level of prosperity despite the decreasing sales. The management of Kamen a pisek Ltd. on the other hand chose to take more bold approach. Instead of very common just plain cost reduction and investment cuts, they chose the progresive method of investment into the most sophisticated technology of aggregate processing.
The new type of the screening machine , LIWELL, that we have added into the technology line is a combination of new, state of the art technology and good old laws of physics. LIWELL can even screen what conventional types of screening machines can’t. Those very fine materials with the tendency of sticking and stucking in the screens of the conventional screening machines can be processed with LIWELL due to LIWELL‘s trampoline effect of the angled screen with temporary screen strain.
The results of adding LIWELL screening machine were: return of the investment within 1 year folloved by profit making, widening of agggregate fraction selection and the incease of capacity of the querry production.
This diploma paper presents and summarizes our factual results and experiences with this new above mentioned technology.
