Abstract
This thesis deals with study of ability of five organically modified vermiculites to remove ibuprofen and diclofenac from the aquatic environment using XRD and FTIR methods, phase carbon analysis and liquid chromatography. The theoretical part is dedicated to the general study of vermiculites, characteristics of intercalated organic cations and problematics of removing pharmaceuticals from aquatic environment. The aim of this thesis is to describe and to determine the sorption efficiency of vermiculites modified by specific organic cations (HDP, HDTMA, TMA, BTMA and TBA). In the practical part, there is stated characterization of organically modified vermiculites, the process of adsorption and achieved results.
