Abstract

The thesis deals with the functional reliability of firefighting vehicles, in those primarily water tenders. The objective of the thesis was to determine the calculation of selected characteristics of failure-free operation and maintainability of firefighting vehicles and to estimate reliability and maintainability of mobile firefighting equipment. The aim of this thesis is to outline recommendations for future purchases of new fire trucks. Fire and Rescue Units of the Silesian-Moravian, Zlín Region and South Moravian Region were included in the selection. Availability of primary data, i.e. the structure and operation of firefighting vehicles and primary data collection and their analysis, was verified at first. Vehicles on the chassis Mercedes-Benz Atego and Mercedes-Benz Econic in the Moravian-Silesian Region, Renault Midlum and TATRA 815 in the Zlin Region, MAN TGM and TATRA 815 in the South Moravian Region has been embodied into the analysis. The sample was based on the largest multitude of firefighting vehicles in these regions. The thesis analyzes operational data of monitored vehicles, with a focus on selected characteristics of reliability. The method of reliability tests, specifically the method of test plans, was chosen as the basis for calculations. The FMEA method was applied for evaluating the severity of the consequences of failures. The analysis of failures by the occurrence on the functional unit of the vehicle is also presented in the thesis. Calculated values of selected indicators of reliability and maintainability, depending on the size of the test period were compared, and the vehicles with the best results were evaluated.
