Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with insurance law and claims settlement. The aim of the thesis is to define the causes and course of loss events and, on the basis of the findings, to propose the introduction of follow-up measures in the company.

The first chapter is devoted to the theory of insurance law with an explanation of a terminology and its function.

The second chapter deals with economic and legal aspects of claims settlement.

The third chapter works with insurance events generally thus their reporting and investigation provided by an insurance company.

The fourth chapter of this thesis is devoted to insurance in a selected company. The company itself is briefly described here as well as the insurance the company has arranged.

In the last chapter, there is knowledge based on the practical examples of concrete company practice summarized as well as their processing and solutions. Based on this knowledge, concrete measures related to the insurance events are proposed.
